I bought an X570 motherboard on amazon a few weeks ago, it was in "like new" condition but the pacgaing was marked as damaged. it just came in a plain black box meaning no codes. I have the serial number from the motherboard itself and a coppy of the invoice from Amazon, but without a "check number" I cant register the board. and in turn cant claim the steam vouchers for reviewing it (not sure which is worse?)

Am I boned? never even considered it when i bought the motherboard, last gigabyte board I had, all I needed was the serial number to register it I believe (and the invoice obviously)
Have contacted gigabyte, but last time I did that it was quite a while before I heard back.

I would have bought from here, but considering the "like new" status of the board it was a lot cheaper on amazon.

Usually offers like the Steam vouchers are for new purchases exclusively and don't include "like new" or other forms of used. (Though you'd want to check that with Gigabyte).

Which is fair enough, but even forgetting that, I still want to register the board for support etc.

To be fair, doesn't say that in the terms and conditions, just says that it has to be bought from one of the partners directly, which it was. my registration for the steeam voucher part was accepted, as just needed the serial for that. just the actual product registration that requires the check code.

Pretty sure the check number is just your amazon order number isnt it? Americanism at its best...
No, its an actual code on the box apparently I swear I never had one when I last bought a Gigabyte motherboard as it was part of a cyberpower system build (please dont judge me) and they never sent the correct boxes for products, weirdly they sent random boxes that werent even the same brand for some of the things. yet I still registered it for warranty. I know I didnt have the box as I still have the weird box I recieved with the system upstairs.

Ill have a look at my x570 box tonight, if you're lucky it could be based off the serial number and production week (both of which are printed on the pcb).

Cheers man. I don't even understand what the check number is.

Dont suppose you had any luck? Took Gigabyte 3 days to tell me it's on my box... despite me telling them I dont have the codes on the box. I swear they get worse everytime i speak to them. lol
I could judt try registering 9999 times i suppose. :/ gonna hit the right number eventually.

Yeah sorry I did look but it had no relevance to anything that was on the label. Mine was 8000 or so. Glad you got it registered, did you just take a punt or did support sort you out?
