Finally got round to buying a bullet cam to go with my Thomson Lyra 2850 and my identical twin stole my car and had a little play this lunchtime.

Out of bandwidth

I've been having problems with the Lyra losing AV Sync so have had to do a fair bit of fiddling to get it to work properly. May be forced to get drunk and order a DV camera this weekend.

64mb for 320*240

Shameful didnt see the back end come out once! Top marks for listening to the Killers though :)

You’re gearbox seems heavy? a lot of clunks from it?

File is rather on the large size. Any hints or tips on codecs and bitrates to use would be appreciated.

Gearbox isn't paticulary heavy, I've just never really liked the PG1 box and tend to be quite forceful with it. I think the clunks are the linkage but to be honest I've never really noticed before.

D/L - Hmm I'm guessing my broadband has been upped finally... 370k/sec :p

Helps having a host on a 10gig backbone ;)

Great Vid - love it

Car seems surprisingly stable over the lumps and bumps too, very well set up to be able to do that and still remain track focussed.

Lovely car mate.

Cheers ears :) Car is pretty stable over the bumpy bits and that's on 6.5 year old Red Koni's. I'm currently trying to convince myself that Nitrons are the way forward this year but that does depend on me earning a bit more than I currently am. Did I mention that I'm about to get a transfer and a raise? ;)

Thanks to others for your nice comments :D

What you editing in? Well doesnt seem you have edited but what you using to encode in then?

I got the asf file off the Lyra and used TMPGeng to demux the stream into the audio and video components and then multiplexed them back together (to solve the AV sync issue). I then used Virtual Dub to remove some of the boring bits and re-encode it to Xvid @ 500kbit.

Looks sweet, what speed did "your identical twin" get upto?

He's actually my evil identical twin, he's got a little goatie and everything :p

Rumour has it (though I have no way of confirming) that top speed was somewhere in the region of 105-110mph.

So, what engine is in that? I thought it was a Toyota, but since you mentioned the PG1 box I'm starting to think a K. Definitely has the same roar as a K.

1.8 VVC K-Series. Couple of breathing mods so probably ~147bhp.

driving without heel-n-toeing seems to unnatural.

is it the toyota engined version?

K-Series VVC.

I've been practicing my heel-n-toesing but I'm no where near confident enough to use it on the road. I'm going on a driver training day on 6th March where I plan to learn from a Pro. That's going to be some very interesting footage :D

As for the thumbs comment. I guess you mean I could break em if I was in a crash. Probably the least of my worries if I do but I will give it a go with my thumbs out. I think I started using them a lot more when it was really cold and I was wearing gloves because I had the roof off.
