If you are taking about the lack of EAX then thats not exactly creatives fault.

Why haven't they come up with some sort of alternative in the years that Vista has been in beta?

Another thing missing from Vista which is on XP is the ability to set bass and treble via the mixer settings.

Creative Labs drivers are poor at best... not surpised at all
