I have been reading a lot on these forums for the past couple of months
and am wondering when there will be a magic combination of components
that will be hassle free guaranteed stable lowish temps "with a good cooler+case" setup for these core 2 duo's.Almost every motherboard thread seems plagued by disgruntled owners of said boards.
The gigabyte ds3 is the most recommended that i see but surely if this were
indeed the best board then why are people buying other boards surely
everyone clued up looking to overclock say a 4300-6400 would have this board
but this doesnt seem the case i am still waiting on the fringes of the buy button
awaiting "the definative setup" for overclocking now and for the future without the need to remove north bridges and apply arctic silver have fans on them etc etc etc.Vdroop random reboots performance drops in games the list is endless.
Sorry to keep whinging on but nothing seems to be sticking out as a solid
stable good overclocking combo. The only board i have not heard anything bad about so far seems to be the abit quad gt.
I still await for the "one board" to proclaim it's greatness and scream buy me.
Maybe i am dreaming but they do not seem to make em like they used to
my asus a7n8x deluxe is a perfect board have these days long gone
all the current boards seem very to coin a phrase beta boards.
I am so tempted by the core 2 duo and even went as far as ordering an asrock and 4300 and going down that slow upgrade route but even that
became an issue when i found out its a gamble whether a 4300 will boot on the board with anything below a 1.40 bios.
Almost bought the new abit fatal1ty 650i today with some geil ram
then i read the owners thread and that has put me off the board for life lol.
I guess i shall tough it out and wait to see which board emerges from the crowd of confusion.
