I have Vista Home Premium and today I added a 3rd hard drive to my system. Upon startup everything seems fine and then the monitor goes to no display and sleep mode. If I startup in safe mode everything is fine. Could this be a PSU issue with my system now not getting enough power? I have 4x120mm fans and a 200m fan in my case. The drive has been formatted in safe mode and works fine.

What wattage is your PSU? I cant imagine that your setup in your sig takes up even 75% of a 500W PSU so i cant see adding a third HDD would cause trouble. Have you tried just replacing one of your old HDD's with your new one to try and isolate the problem?

I have a Seasonic S12 PSU which is 520watts. I have not tried replacing a drive but will do and see what happens. Could it be the channel on the SATA causing the issue as the DVD drive is on the same channel.

I also disconnected the new drive so it was back to the old setup and it still did not work, I am now a little perplexed.

Edit: Ignore, your title has nothing to do with your problem description.

Right I have managed to uninstall the nvidia drivers in safe mode and then reboot into the normal unsafe version of Windows but obviously only at a low resolution. I then installed the latest nvidia drivers and rebooted as suggested, upon reboot the same problem occurs, ie windows loading screen appears and just before the logo comes up the display says no signal. I know windows loads though as I hear the sounds. Why would my gfx card suddenly cause all of these problems after adding a simple hard drive?

The most recent Nvidia graphics card driver is causing blank screens for a lot of people.
I had blank screen on bootup when using DVI and when I changed back to VGA cable the problem went.
