Hi all, really hope someone can help me. Recently brought a Sapphire Vega 64 Nitro + GPU to replace my R9 Fury. Now before i fitted the card, i uninstalled the drivers using DDU in safe mode. Fitted the new card and before i installed the drivers, everything is ok. As soon as i install the latest drivers and the pc restarts, the display goes off after a few seconds and i get a message saying no display and the monitor goes on stand by. Sent the card back to Overclockers, they tested it with the latest drivers and found not issues and sent it back. So re-installed it and the same has happened. I am at a loss of what it can be if it`s not the card or drivers.

It posts, does everything as normal, gets to the desk top, then the monitor goes off and says no display. Card is all lit up like a Xmas tree, so power is there. My MB is a Asus P8 Z68-V GEN3 Prime Z270-P. I have a EVGA 850 PSU, Core i5 7600k with 16GB ram.

I'm pretty sure thats 3 different motherboards :D

Couple of things.

Disable onboard graphics in bios if it's there, also make sure pci-e is selected in bios.

If that doesn't work boot up in safe mode, uninstall driver and reinstall.

It could be a PSU issue also.

I cant try in in another PC as the case is not big enough for the card and yes, you kind of do get a custom install option, HDMI audio, report wizard and settings. I install everything other than HDMI audio as i have a SB sound card. I was going to try in in another PCI slot but cant get it to fit but my older card works, so cant be that. I had read that some people got a black screen with the new AMD Adrenalin drivers but Overclockers had not issue with them. I guess i could still try and install a older driver. Regarding that it may be a PSU issue, the display stays on until the drivers are installed plus my R9 Fury is ok, think they have a similar power draw.

In theory you shouldn't even need to do a ddu when moving from one to the other so put the Fury back in & get it all working again with that, then swap cards without doing a ddu or driver change & see what happens, If you get the Fury working okay but not the Vega when you switch them look at other possibilities, but first off make sure the Fury's working again as I've had odd issues like these myself & sometimes DDU screws things up.

Making sure you have the latest bio's for the motherboard and trying different hdmi/displayport cables and cable slots can't hurt.

Make sure you're using different cables for each 8 pin connector, Also, I've seen posts here where people have found that things like using a 6 to 8 pin adapter for one of the plugs has been the cause of problems.

My PSU is a EVGA 850W. Since using DDU, i have done a fresh install of Windows, the Fury is working fine and the bios is up to date. I have also tried different cables, two DP cables and a brand new HDMI 2.0. All work fine with the Fury and the Vega, until the drivers are installed. Going to try removing the bios battery, then if that does not work, do a fresh install with the Vega card in, i did it with the Fury last time, as Overclockers still had my Vega card. I will also try using the other two 8 pin connectors on the PSU but to be honest, the Fury has two 8 pin connectors and i use the same cables, i don`t use adapters as ppl advised against it when i swapped to the Fury as my older PSU only had 6 pin connectors.

i had the same problem with a vega 64, but mine would loose display .turned out to be my 700w silverstone psu. i replaced it with a evga 850w and it worked fine. you have the same psu as me so you can rule that out,

I had similar issues with an RX480.

Tried an older driver and it worked straight away. Recently updated to the latest one and thankfully that worked too.

There were a couple of driver releases that did the same though.
