Hi, I'm trying to get my spare rig up and runnning; AMD Athlon II 640 (AM3) / AsRock N68C-S UCC (AM3/3+) / 2x 4GB sticks / OCZ Vertex 2 60GB / 160GB Drive (Hitatchi deskstar I think) / Asus GT520 1GB / 500W PSU

This was my first rig many years ago minus the drives so I know these parts work with one another.
Tested RAM, CPU, GPU, Drives, all work fine. Installed win 7 on SSD.

The problem is whether I VGA into the GPU or onboard output monitor just says no signal. Booted system this morning to continue win install, display worked when it rest no signal. drive worked fine on other rig seeing the newly installed win 7. Put it back into old rig and no display but like 1/50 starts it'll display. I've tried removing battery to reset bios aswell.

I'll test my other monitors but could something else be causing this?

If you've tested the RAM, CPU, GPU and drives as working there isn't much else to test.

In addition to what Idleman suggests I'd also try swapping out the power supply with a known working unit. After that you're looking at either a motherboard or CPU fault, both of which will be difficult to nail down.

CPU pulled from my current rig was up and running less than a week ago, so I'm doubting it's gotten damaged in that time

I think the PSU is a CiT 350 maybe 450W highly doubting its 80+ either. Going to get my OCZ CoreXstream 500W back from a friend and try another monitor.

Thanks for fast replies guys :)

Tested with another monitor and another VGA and with VGA-to-DVI-I adapter still no luck. Tested with on-board and GPU (VGA and DVI-I adapter)

I'll try the other PSU soon...
