Not to sure what sub forum to post this in so thought it would be best in here please feel free to move it if needs be.

Currently having a problem where im not getting any picture from my gigabyte 980ti. I turned on my PC last night and it sounded like a jet taking off and the 980ti fan was going at full speed i turned the PC off and on again but this time got no picture. I tried using onboard graphics and that works fine.

Ive tried hdmi and dvi on the gpu and get the same result the card lights up fan spins but im not getting any picture if i go into bios it says that the pci slot is empty Ive reseated the card a few times and that didnt solve it could it be the board at fault as the gpu powers up? Mobo in question is a Msi H81i and is on the latest bios.

Ive asked in the MM for a dirt cheap gpu so i can test that to try and rule out which part could be at fault but thought it may be worth asking if anyone could think of a solution.

I think you've already found the faulty part to be honest. Testing with another cheap GPU is a good idea and will tell you definitively.
