No display GTX260

I purhased a GTX260 recently from the MM, slotted it in the mobo, made sure both PCI-e connectors were connected but when I turn my PC on I get no display on my monitor.

Mobo is ga-965p-ds3

Using latest bios.

Any advice?

Does your PSU supply enough power?

Can you see the BIOS screen?

Can you start in safe mode?

Psu is ocz 500w modular so should be fine.

Can't see any display at all.

I tried the card in my brothers PC.using the psu of mine and it was fine.

Seems to be my mobo that's the issue...how can I be sure?

A pain but to find out for sure is to borrow your bro's card or any card and try that in your PC.

He's got an 8800GTS and his has the exact same problem in my pc.

The mobo was working fine before this though.

I don't have a CMOS jumper, just 2 CLR_CMOS pins. What is the correct way to short them because I'm not sure if I've done it right.

just put a jumper on them for 10 seconds or so then take it off.

I don't have a jumper handy though... I may have some on an old IDE would that do the same job? Just put it on the pins for 10 secs, I don't need to power on or anything?

any jumper will do, you dont need any power, infact you should unplug the power cable while doing it.

I've just tried that and no difference at all.

The mobo was working fine before I put the GTX260 in it, but the GTX260 and my PSU work fine in my brothers PC.

The 260 is a bigger card, it kind of feels like it isn't being pushed into the GPU slot all the way at the front end but it must be because it clicks in to place and also my brothers 8800GTS doesn't work in my mobo at all...

take power lead out hold power button for 10 secs then take battery out wait 10 mins to an hour also take card out and blow on pci express for dust

Tried all of that mate. Just don't understand it was fine with a different gpu yesterday.

Also you could try take card out and power up with out GTX260 in see if you get error beep

My bros PSU is a Hiper 500W.

Just to confirm I did try my OCZ 500W PSU on his motherboard with the GTX260 and it booted fine.

Probably a dead mobo now

could have been a build up of static and when components were moved it shorted something...Just my guess.
