No Display on BF3

Hiya guys just installed my new I5 3570K, Z77 board, 670 X3, I installed BF3 (the reason for the upgrade) have installed all of the patches, I select a server it loads, states it's "Playing!" it launches me into the game, I hear the sound but I just have a black screen extremely odd.

Anyone have any idea's?

If it wasn't a one off, delete the settings folder (for bf3) in your documents folder and try again.

I've reinstalled it 3-4 times.

It wouldn't have anything to do with having windows on SSD and origin and BF3 on HDD.

No. A lot of people run like that.

I run with Origin on the HDD but BF3 on the SSD and it works fine so I don't think this is your issue.

Do you have the Russian special edition? If so then you will need to patch it up.

I bought a Russian key as it was cheaper, I installed it for 10 hours it all worked however it was in Russian there is a way to convert it to english I did all of that but the game wouldn't even load then. So I realised my brother had a BF3 Limited edition disc so I just installed it off of that.

Is the game set to your display res? Download bf3 settings editor and setup the res, than try game again.

When you click to join a server and the game starts to load up, untick the 'goto game when ready' and leave it for 2 mins loading, then click on the BF3 program running in the task bar to maximise the game and see if that works. Mine sometimes does this when loading maps so i ALT TAB out of the game to the desktop and then go back to the game when i hear gunfire.

Might be a pain but it might get you playing for now.

Also it could be a problem with punkbuster, it might be worth uninstalling and re-downloading punkbuster.

I'd say it was something with having the Russian version and what ever fix you applied, I don't think you can link a Russian version to a retail UK version

hi guys,

iv heard the russain can be changed to a english pack so there probably is definetly no error on that behalf. make sure you have the latest drivers mate.

It happens whenever the game patches itself. You will need to get the latest language patch from cjskeys.
I can imagine it would have an issue using the BF3 Limited Edition installation instead of Russian.. Either way, it's not a graphics issue, this happens when it doesn't have or can't find the correct language files.

Might be worth double checking your refresh rate is set right but the language pack fix sounds hopeful.
