No display on screen after changing Resolution.

Hi all,

I changed the resolution on my Ubuntu 10.04 IBM T43 to the max displayed in the screen res gui and now I only have a black screen. If I reboot the loading screen opens and it boots up ok but I cannot see the screen still (its black).

How do I change the resolution in the terminal?

running the below should fix your problem.

If you set a resolution inappropriate for your monitor in the Screen Resolution GUI tool, you can reset it by running rm ~/.config/monitors.xml from a terminal.

Strange then that, with the exception of the first line, the instructions appear identical :rolleyes:

Thanks guys rm ~/.config/monitors.xml worked a treat.
