Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone could help.

My computer was working fine up until yesterday, I turn on the pc and now no longer get a display out from my graphics card.

I have tired all the connecitons from the card to the monitor DVI, HDMI and DP.

When I remove the graphics card and plug the monitor directly into my motherboard to use integrated graphics I get a signal.

Has anyone had this issue before?
Is my Graphics card dead?
Just wondering if I need to buy a new graphics card.

Thanks for reading.

as said above, check device manager and if the card actualy boot with the PC ( leds, fans , etc), if you can't get into windows to check the device manager, try and reseat the card on another PCI-e, and plug it using DVI

Is it showing up in device manger? Any fan activity? Reseat the card, try another slot.
Hi Wrinky,

I can not get a display from the motherboard using integrated graphics unless I remove the graphics card.
The fans do spin when I have the card in the PCIE slot but no signal :(
I have tired other PCIE slots and another PC and still no signal.

Thanks for your response AlamoX.

I have tired all that you have suggested without any luck :(

Do you guys think my graphics card is dead?
It is an older card that was given to me to use in my secondary pc, think it is about 6 years old.

If you tried it in other slots and also another PC, it's time to send it to GPU heaven, it's seems to be a deadun.

The exact same thing happened to my second hand Palit 1070 not long ago.
Returned it to where it was originally bought from and got it replaced for a brand new one.
Lucky really as it was nearly out of warranty. :)

Seeing as it is a old GPU, you may as well try the oven trick first.

if you still have no signal on another PC, then it sound pretty dead to me.
if you are an optimist you could try pluging it to the TV and see if you get any signal, but the 2nd PC test looks like a dead end especialy if it had it's own monitor.

Thanks for reply guys....

I don't think I'll give the oven trick a try as I have read that the fumes from baking the card can
contaminate the oven and effect the food being prepped in the oven in furture.

Just need it to hold out until the new graphics cards are released so I can move my main graphics card to my secondary machine :(

Anyone have any suggestions for a cheap place holder card for CSGO?

Looking at spending £80 max as a place holder.

Will be buying the GTX1180 as soon as it is announce and released, looking like it will be out Q4 this year from the rumours.

Check your motherboard bios has not got corrupted and reverted to an earlier bios revision. Seen this happen a few times.
Getting the latest bios back on to the motherboard fixed it, it was on a gigabyte z77 motherboard every time too.

You should be able to circumvent this with a BIOS setting. Check which video output is initialised first.

So remove graphics card, boot pc from integrated graphics to get into bios and set the output to integrated graphics instead of pcie graphics.
Replace graphics card and boot pc again with the display cable from the integrated graphics (cable from motherboard to monitor) and I should be able to get in to windows?

Thanks I'll check the bios is the most up to date.

That's basically it. How to do it - which exact setting to change - will depend upon your BIOS.

I have managed to get into windows under integrated graphics.
I checked device manager and can not see the graphics card being recognised under display adaptor.
