Hello. My computer has started to suffer from random blue screens recently, and my DVD drive hasn't been able to work for quite a while either. I guessed that either the OS or the SSD was at fault somehow, but today I thought that maybe it was the memory that was causing the problems. I don't have a camera so I have not been able to take a picture of the BSOD, and it only shows for a few seconds before rebooting the computer.
Usually, what happens is, all of my apps would crash, and the computer would freeze for two or three minutes. If I tried pressing any keys during the freeze, then the computer would need to be restarted. If I didn't press any keys, then within a couple of minutes, the computer would be working fine for another 30 minutes. This morning, things got worse. Every time my computer would boot in to windows, I would get a BSOD before the desktop came up. I got tired of this and decided that I would try running with each stick of memory individually and see how it goes. I also took it upon myself to take the whole computer apart so that I could dust the case.
Now that I've finished putting everything back in place, when I turn on the computer, I get no display. The fans are running and all that, but nothing on the screen, not even a BIOS. I've checked and re-checked that I haven't done anything stupid, like not plugging in the 6pin cable to the GPU. Also, the Power Button on my case will only switch the computer on, it won't switch it off. I made sure to put all of the cables in the same place as before.
I can't think of anything obvious to try, so it's up to OcUK to save the day!
Edit: Are any of these symptoms tied with a faulty motherboard?
Edit2: Here is a list of the components in the rig, in case it makes a difference:
