Hey guys need a little help ,pc won't boot all fans on but no display have tried different graphics card still no joy, did try to take stock fan off with no joy did not put much pressure and gave up ,is it possible that I have damaged the CPU as this is the only thing I can think of .

did you remove/replace any other hardware prior to it not booting?

tried stripping the pc down to the bare minimum amounts of parts needed to make it run?

What were you trying to do.

Make sure all cables are seated correctly and perhaps do a cmos reset, sometimes this works for me.

Well was doing a bit of cleaning ,could not get all dust out so wanted to take fan of top to clean it better, wish had not tryed now , tried CMOS still no good and don't have spare CPU to try which is a shame.

Check all cables as said above.

Does the board have an onboard speaker? Is the system actually posting and working as normal or is it just 'spinning up' and not doing anything.

Have you attempted re-seating the cpu / ram at all yet?

If the board has an onboard speaker, turn the pc on without any ram installed, see if you get any error beeps.

If you do it's a good thing :p

Tried one stick still no good, and no mate was trying to get fan off to clean underneath ,maybe was to heavy handed and CPU damaged

Double check that you have the gpu 6 pin and cpu 4 pin power connectors connected.

yes all leads are connected this is not a new build cheers mate,ok so only things not tried now is different psu and a different cpu both of which i dont have spare, when i start pc you can here hard drive spinning up and get some harddrive activitey on front of pc then it stops after about 15 secs, thanks for your help so far ppl.

It sounds more like you've damaged your motherboard via cleaning than damaged your CPU. Provided that the cleaning was significant to the problem, of course.
