I have just finished my first build, and go to connect my monitor. I had to use a dvi cable from the gpu to the monitor, as the motherboard has a male vga cable, yet my monitor isn't picking this up. Does it matter if its coming from the gpu to the monitor, as i am unable to check the motherboard.

Any help appreciated

It depends if your graphics card is installed properly because if the drivers are not automatically assigned then anything connected wont be detected. The VGA port is probably the built in graphics on your motherboard, this should work okay... connect your monitor up to that and install a driver for your graphics card and then reconnect your monitor to your graphics card and it should be fine....

and make sure your graphics card is in properly. All the way in. And make sure its powered.

Hi there, this should all be plug and play - however depending on your configuration if may require some messing around.

Would you be able to list your specs (including monitor)?

Also, are the graphics card power connections (if required) plugged in correctly?
