Got a 8800GTS 320mb this week, running Forceware 101 drivers but cant see a way of controlling the fan speed, or even seeing how fast it is going.

Also tried ATiTool and its not an option in there, also nTune/nVidia Monitor too, nothing listed there.

GPU idles at around 65 degrees, this is with a mild overclock of 600 core and 855 on the memory. After an hour of STALKER the temps are around 78 degrees, which isnt too bad.

The fan and clock settings should be available in the Control Panel once nTune is installed.

Click on 'Performance' and then 'GPU settings'

78c is what my 7800gtx full loads at aswell.

but 8800's run 3dclocks all the time so ** idle temp is allmost double of cards that run 2dclocks idle, my 7800gtx idles at 30-32c.

as for your fan, you sure its not in ati tray tools? :S

if not you could allways link it to a fan speed addapter thingy

Yeah I checked in the control panel but the option for the fan is greyed out:

apparently there's a problem with the latest drivers above 101.xx

I have had the same problem in vista and watched my 8800gtx warm up to 80 degrees under load (which isnt bad tbh)

download rivatuner, you can manually adjust the fan control in there.

So now, when i bootup, i must remember to change my cpu fan to max in ntune, and my gtx fan to max in rivatuner

come on nvidia, we expect better than this.

BruceLee, mine's the same running 158.22 drivers, but then I just leave the fan to get on with looking after itself! I never seem to hear it over my case fans anyway.

Got my 8800 640meg GTS today, and am pleased the stock fan is very quiet indeed, always used aftermarket coolers. At full boar i can hardly here it... very pleased indeed.

Having the same problem here.

Can't change the fan speed at all. Riva tuner reports all the fan settings on 100% when its not.

You're lookin in the wrong place mate. You want low level fan control in the customize section of Target Adapter and Low-Level System Settings. you can adjust it in there.
