No file names with thumbnail folder view

I have absolutely no idea what's going on here. In My Pictures, if I choose to display the files as thumbnails, so I can see what they are, the file names disappear. I'm running (a completely legit version of) XP Pro SP2.



This doesn't happen with any other folders, including the ones within My Pictures. If I display them in any other way, the file names return. It's not exactly the end of the world, but it is a bit annoying. If anyone can shed any light on this, I'd appreciate it

I think you have to do something like hold down shift, right-click the folder, then click Open.

I seem to remember that doing it..
