I have the spec in sig, it seems to be a recent occurrence, I’m out of ideas to be honest.

Tried updating the graphics card drivers, that caused more problems, namely the buggy CCC menu under cat 8.10.

Tried putting all overclocking settings back to default, and vice versa using a OC Profile.

My chipset drivers are up to date, so are my audio drivers.

Red Alert Crashes before it get to the main menu after intro videos, apparently that was caused by it aggressively looking for an update which was supposedly fixed in 1.03, however the problem still persists on my computer.

Fallout 3 crashes straight away if started via a shortcut or the main .exe, loads and gets to menu if launched via the launcher, but then crashes when I press new.

Turok has tottaly lost the plot, it worked perfect before, now when you press play it says a load of files are missing and then complains about not enough memory.

Sometimes after loading any of the above it occasionally hard locks the pc completely, tried reinstalling them all to no avail.

Done a disk check on the raid array and there are no problems, also done a defrag of the array, using a 32k stripe size as well if that makes any difference, it shows no errors when booting up either.

Stupid thing is the computer seems fine in normal windows use, can use Autocad, watch HD films, although i think it rebooted randomly earlier today when i was out.

Is Vista damaged ?

Changed the memory to its default settings 555-15 2.0v and put the dram command rate back to auto, not helped, going to try memtest now but i am skeptical as i dont think windows would run as well as it is if that was to blame.

Ran memtest for 40 minutes on the default settings, it got to 40% pass, does that mean there are no errors up to that point ? do i need to run it for the full time to be sure ?

Left memtest running while im out anyway, will it just start again when its finished ? or does it stop ? how will i know if there has been any errors ?

Im going to reinstall vista as well i think anyway.

When i try to run turok ? just random files, the most important thing about that game is that it was running fine literally a couple of weeks ago.

Im starting to wonder if this is harddrive related now, not that anythings wrong with them, just the way there interfacing with the computer as my dvdrw seems to have started picking and choosing when it wants to burn (its sata as well like) and the only hardware change ive made recently is the raid drives.

That comes back to similar arguments with stress testing cpus though, for most people 8 hours is fine but some would say its not stable if it failed after 20 hours!, im back at home now anyway for the weekend and my computer is at my flat.
