No gaming - X-Fi still a good choice?

I won't be play many, if not any games at all in the future. Possibly Halo 2 Vista if I for some reason decide to upgrade to Vista.

I've just ordered some Creative Inspire T6100 speakers and was wondering if the matching X-Fi (Music or Gamer) sound card would be the best choice to go with it. I watch a lot of DVDs and TV shows on my computer (will watch more when I get a new monitor soon) and listen to music. I do these much more than I play games anyway.

Looking to spend about £50-60. X-Fi still the best choice you reckon?

Thanks.

Buy better speakers, then a M-Audio Audiophile soundcard. I doubt you'll notice the sound quality on speakers like that.

Hmm, which M-Audio one do you think I should look at? There seems to be a few.

Although that with better speakers is probably too expensive for me. It's either get OK sound stuff now and save up for a new monitor, or spend a lot on good sound stuff and wait even longer for the monitor. I don't know which one I want more really. : /

Is the Audiophile 2496 any good? Looks around the right price for me.

Better quality than the X-Fi.
Just use a credit card, plonk M-Audio, monitor and £100,000 amplifier and speakers into your cart. :D

 I wish.

Audiophone 192 or 2496? Realistically, are these good cards for me?
