Sorry if already posted but it appears Ubisoft have done it again. US nasty PC gamers aren't getting the new Ghost Recon because apparently we are all going to pirate it, whilst every console gamer will pay for it.

Can't say that I am bothered to be honest as I don't really see the game doing much that BF3 doesn't do already, but it does appear as though a pattern is emerging with Ubisoft.

You have to laugh though, they implement the most draconian DRM known to man, effectively punishing legitimate buyers, the games sell like crap and they blame piracy.

I think the PC community is better off without them.

This bit is the worst:

"To the users that are traditionally playing the game by getting it through Pirate Bay, we said, ‘Okay, go ahead guys. This is what you're asking for. We've listened to you – we're giving you this experience. It's easy to download, there's no DRM that will pollute your experience.'"

What a ******* cheek! Not EVERY PC gamer pirates games. Cheeky ********!

Screw them then. If that attitude represents Ubisoft policy, then they can get stuffed.

From the PC gamer link:

because we know that 95% of our consumers will pirate the game. So we said okay, we have to change our mind.

If they made good games, and made games with incentives that encouraged people to NOT pirate games, then they might get somewhere. Having an attitude that it's not worth it because you simply state that 95% of people will pirate is is nonsense. Great attitude to have Ubisoft. It's blatant they only want the money from consoles, and seem totally oblivious to console piracy. What happens if PC gaming dies out completely, and console games become pirated more and more. What are they going to do then?!

Ubisoft can die in a fire, considering what they've done to the Tom Clancy games of late, they're not even worth pirating.

If a game is good, it will sell very well on PC just look at Skyrim and games like The Witcher. If you go to usenet indexing sites and look at big releases, the console version gets more hits than the PC version. Ubisoft can just **** off.

Not much of a loss for us :D, first Ghost Recon was great, what came after has been stinkers since. Still, this article doesn't surprise me as Ubisoft have had this attitude for quite a while now.

I think Assassins Creed series is the last set of Ubisofts games that are any good in quite awhile now, from memory at least.

Haven't played the series since original games, but a lot of these big publishers just seem to be alienating themselves from their own customers.
