Hi all,

Ok usually when i want a phone i shop around for the best deals.

But as i understand it if i want an iphone id be wasting my time as its only 02 that do them right?

So i might as well go to the 02 website and just pick which tarrif/deal is best for me on there?

Would i be correct in saying that there are no other deals about worth looking at then?

This iphone buisness is bloody expencive! I was looking at getting one for the sister for xmas and on a contact it wouks out to be a lot of money over the 18 months!

You can normally get a discount, I got my phone for free (not iphone) which was meant to be £100. Altough I think thats a bit different than getting money off per month.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but it's kind of related. I'm also considering one and noticed that on the O2 site you can now pick one up on Pay and Go.

Would these still be locked to O2 do you think or do you think that I could put a Voda sim in there?

PAYG iPhone's are locked to O2 as well. They are exactly the same as the contract phones except the SIM inside them

Also, there are only three official UK suppliers of the iPhone:

Apple
O2
Carphone Warehouse

All three have the exact same deals

I've had 2 o2 contracts and neither of them were locked to o2. its only pay and go that are locked. It might be different with the Ipoo since its only available from them.

Personally I think theres better touch screen phones avaiable if thats what you're looking for. But if you're of the ilk that everyone else has got one so i want one then go for it :D

I just got an 8GB iPhone on o2, for free, on the £35 per month tarrif. Not a bad deal, considering it includes unlimited data & WiFi.

I just went to upgrade online to have a look at what they could give me- added the iPhone and it said cost of phone: £0.00, so I rang up (and tried to get a little more from them) but settled for a free handset on the o2 35 tarrif. Kept my number too, which was pretty handy, saved all that porting nonsense.

All I need to do now is get around to jailbreaking it and get a snes emulator running for some super mario bros fun :|

unlimited is never that. Its until your permanently downloading stuff via torrents or just excessive usage then they'll put a cap on it.

As long as you're happy with the monthly allowance of 2 free minutes and 5 texts (I exaggerate but it's not very generous) ;)

Haha, well 600mins / 500 texts isn't that bad, I had them same deal with my n95. Plus I rarely go over 300mins/texts anyway.

Ah, my bad. I was thinking you got 75 mins and 125 texts but that appears to be on the £30/month tariff. I could have sworn that you used to get 75/125 on the £35/month, so they've either changed it recently or I've misremembered.
