I am trying to connect my Asus UX330UA to a TV using the Micro HDMI port. I am using an HDMI cable and a HDMI-to-Micro-HDMI adapter. The laptop does not recognise that an external monitor is connected however (I have tried the Detect option in Windows Display settings).
The adapter plug does not fit fully into the socket - the plug is 8mm long but only 5mm of the plug will fit into the socket on the Asus. While this does not make for a very stable connection, I'm assuming that the relevant connections are being made inside, as the first 5mm of the plug should be enough?
How can I test whether the HDMI socket on the laptop is faulty?
