I have just gone from ati to nvidia and i cant get the hdmi to give me anything at all , the monitor i have only has d sub or hdmi input with no dvi, if i go from dvi out from the card to an adaptor to hdmi input the resolution is showing at 1900x1200 but it doesnt fit the screen its too big , if i go from dvi out to d sub in then all is fine correct res ect
if i go hdmi to hdmi i get nothing , latest drivers are installed and i have had a play in the nvidia control panel but still no futher, any ideas ?

Driversweep and re-install?
One of he Nvidia drivers used to give me trouble and it turned out to be a BIOS setting of all things, can you see the BIOS screen when loading?

Thanks for the reply , i am having the same trouble in both xp and vista.
using the dsub adaptor it auto adjusts the image and all is well , on my monitor i only have a hdmi input but using the dvi-hdmi lead which i used before on my 3870x2 it wont auto adjust on my monitor or manual adjust either. It shows as 1920x1200 , and i can see bios ok as it posts, i have given up on the straight through hdmi-hdmi i dont get anything with that plugged in :(

Just noticed the plug on my dvi - hdmi patch lead and it only has half the pins that the other dvi-dsub adaptor has so maybe it isnt Dual -link, what do you recon :o

Still having the same issue , everything is great over d-sub but wont scale over dvi -> to hdmi also tried it on to my TV and i get the same result, attached pic , what do you recon anyone , also onto BFG and they have asked me to check all the usual but weekend and tech support has gone quiet

Same on vista as on xp also tried different type of dvi-i to hdmi adaptor and dvi-hdmi patch lead if i put back my ati card it scales straight off

Hope I dont get issus with my new system. Have DVI to DVI to my 24" Sammy screen but will be looking to hook it up to my 40" Sammy LCD TV via DVI to HDMI.

Finges crossed.

Have you checked your settings on your TV?

I havent checked those yet but i have gone through all the settings on my monitor and its the same

Uninstall your drivers, Driver clean, Re-install them.

Dont touch the resolution settings in the driver control panel.
Instead:

Right click on desktop, Go to preferences, Amend resolution there!

I have my TV hooked up through a DVI - HDMI adaptor but as soon as I use the drivers resolution settings it messes up. However just right clicking and using the normal windows settings to change resolution works perfectly.

Thanks for that advise No 1 Dave. I will keep that in mind. ;)

Looks like there's a tough of overscan there. Dunno how to amend this on either the telly or the nvidia control panel.

Hi tried unistalling the drivers and ran driver sweeper, still the same also uninstalled the monitor drivers and in again
this is the same in xp and vista and vista was a clean install

i am right in thinking there shouldnt be a problem from dvi to hdmi as this is the only digital input my monitor has , and it worked fine with my ati card , i reinstalled it again and bingo no problem , BFG are on the case but its a bit slow they think its my monitor but they think i am using hdmi - hdmi and say it is bad HDCP back from the monitor???

i have attached a link to the way it is on my monitor and the lead i am using

Are you trying this on both a monitor and a TV? Are they both connected when you're trying this? Images of panels are different.

Have you switched off scaling in NVCP? Have you altered the scaling options on the monitor?

Hi,
I have tried it on both TV and monitor but not at the same time,as you can see i just get different levels of " it doesnt fit" as the native resolutions are different, when i go into Nvidia control panel the scaling is greyed out so i cant do anything with that , or can i ?
I have altered all the settings on the monitor that i know off, i keep thinking that if i put my x3870x2 back in it works on the same lead with the same monitor and at worst all i have to do is alter the resolution and usually that does it itself anyway , so its got to be a faulty card hasnt it?

I suspect buried deep in your OS install are settings for the ati HDMI compliant dvi output that you new card is unhappy with using. Deep clean all old drivers , remove alll video card devi ces in safe mode and do the reboots with new drivers.

I will give it a go later when i get home , the strange thing is i had the same in vista and as you can see from the screen shot in xp also but the vista was a clean install which never went near a ati card, i just installed the nvidia drivers and it looked the same much to my disapointment.but i havent uninstalled in safe mode so i will give that a go

I did the driver sweeper in safemode and it took out everything to do with nvidia, physx , ati graphics and chipset, not that there should be any ati chipset there anyway, so it looked promising , but bah no still the same , i have requested an rma from BFG unless they have any other ideas or a refund i dont mind which. I will keep you posted . Regards Andyr
