ok got up this morning turned on my computer it was loading xp fine got past the loading screen and it just went black, now i know my computer did boot up right cause everything came up on my g15 lcd screen so what's the problem?

currently i am on vista i have installed on another hdd, can i fix it or what is wrong with my xp?

Has vista worked its magic and tried to install drivers its self ? thus completely screwing your original working set up ?

I have seen this time and time again

Best thing to do is to boot into safe mode, enter the device managed and 'uninstall' your video adapter / graphics card

You will need to install it your self afterwards.
I swear that OS has a mind of its own!

Read of a few reports where Vista installs a new inf file for the monitor resulting in just a black screen, safe mode is the way to go I think to at least get the system running and have a look at the monitor settings.
