no input signal

I had been setting up a new router on my mum and dads PC tonight then rebooted the system. Got halfway through the windows loading screen then the screen went blank and ‘no input signal’ error appeared on the screen and it reset. Keeps doing this over and over. Checked all cables, switched monitors / gfx / ram and it still keeps doing it. Thought it would be display related but i've ruled that out. Could it be hard drive failure?

Any ideas what it could be?
