I'm not gonna link my add as I doubt I'd be allowed so I'll just see what you guys think.

I'm selling my old car it's 1999 Ford Fiesta finesse with 130k on the clock. It's got alloys after market stereo and mot till next Feb. Condition wise for a 17 year old car it's not bad IMO.

What do you guys think is a reasonable price? Had it at £550 for nearly two weeks just dropped it to £450. Had zero interest.

Never sold a car before so worried I might be doing something wrong. Only got it listed on one site atm as it's such a cheap car didn't think it was worth paying to advertise.

For a car like that I'd personally stick it on ebay at say £200 start, no reserve and see what you get.

Looking at similar cars they'll go for anywhere between £200 and £400 - I wouldn't say it was worth spending too much time worrying about it, just describe it well add photos and forget. Will cost you a tenner or so but it'll sell.

Don't think anyone will care about a head unit, though the clutch should help sell it - not going to add significant amounts to its value though

I would say around £350 and put it on Gumtree that's the first place buyers look for cheap local runabouts under 1k

Might have to go to eBay then.

I know the head unit is nothing special but for someone that's young and needs a first car on the cheap its a massive bonus to be able to use your phone for music.

Gumtree is the only place it's listed right now.

Put yourself in a potential buyer's shoes. Why would they want yours for £450 when there are lower mileage or higher spec cars around for £250?

It's basically scrap metal at this point

Take the stereo out and ebay it, it wont add to the value

Valid point but getting work done is the bigger question in the bracket and a clutch is a fairly costly job. Maybe I'm just getting my hopes too high.

If I were to take the head unit out if use it in mine but I don't have the original head unit.

Aftermarket anything be it alloys, stereo, whatever at this price point will add exactly nothing to the value.
It may be the reason someone picks yours over another at the same price but no one will pay extra for it.

You're in buy it run it till the MOT finishes and bin it territory.

Honestly, they're pretty much worthless cars now - the clutch and stereo might make it easier to sell but it wont make it worth any more.

I sold 2 Focus's in the past within 24hrs on Gumtree so if you can't shift a cheap car on there then it must be overpriced. Try 300-350

£550 is barely dealer price for those let alone private sale.

Even the extremely overpriced dealer I got my corsa from has a '52 plate one with 54k miles for £600

Yeah, as has been said, it's not worth £500.
It's not a desirable car for a teenager and there are better priced cars for someone who just wants to drive from A to B.

It's not worth that much. You could buy a 2002> model for that money.

Stick it on eBay. It sells for what it sells for.
