No life at all?

Is your CPU and GPU overclocked? if so - Your PSU may not be efficient enough to run your build, how much W is your PSU?

- I had a 600W psu over clocked GPU and CPU.. few days later it didn't build up, it briefly goes on then turns back off.

I had another CPU thank god which was 750W but cooling system was terrible, that worked so I bought a 750W cool master PSU

New PSU that stopped booting it is an OCZ 650w which should be more than enough, old psu that does boot it is an old Seasonic 500w.

The GPU has a minor overdrive OC of 1050/1350, no voltage tweaks though.

There's another new BIOS out so I'll give that a shot and try it again when I get home tomorrow, version F14 already, still finding their way with these Z77 boards it seems!

3hrs of pain and completely random hardware combinantions later i think i've cracked it, and it's really weird!

It doesn't boot (most) of the time if somethings plugged into the display port on my gfx card... how bizzare is that? Seems to need a power cycle & cmos clear to then work again with DVI which must've been what made it so difficult to debug.

Apparently there's an issue with the majority of DisplayPort cables being non spec and having pin 20 connected which actually sends power from the monitor to the gfx card, causing lots of power related issues!

It doesn't, I managed to get it in to a scenario where it wouldn't work with the seasonic either, there's some weird sequence of inserting gfx card / connecting power / resetting cmos that would get it to work until you removed the kettle lead from the psu, then it would stop until removing displayport and cmos clear.

Really strange! Going to try a HDMI > DVI cable as a safe option for 2nd monitor!
