Hi All,

Went to purchase a car tonight but the V5 doesnt have the model of the car on, infact the model isnt anywhere even on the original reciept when the car was bought.

So when trying to insure the car it detects its a nissan micra but lists 4 different models it could be. I have ran a car text check and it comes back as a Nissan Micra Boston.

Do you think its a case of the dvla listing the model wrong just because I cant insure the car at the minute because the insurance company im trying to insure it through have never heard of this model. Think its from 1994 or something like that.

How likely are the DVLA to correct this over the phone so i can insure the car and purchase it?

Thanks, Sam

Surely the insurance company just do it by the registration number?

The V5 generally doesn't list the "exact" model.

Thats the problem the insurance company wont insure it until the model is sorted and its by far the cheapeat quote we can get.

If i go to a dvla office are they likely to change it once i find out the model?

I had this on my Fiesta, I rang up Ford and they told me exactly what is. I also got them to give me a print out in case the insurance was ever fussy if I needed to claim. Just give Nissan a call and they should be able to tell you
