No more D:\ or E:\

I installed Nero 6 and D:\ and E:\ disappeared (DVD-ROM and DV-RW) so I uninstalled it and they came back, installed again and the same thing happened. How can I get these drives to work after a Nero 6 install?

Perhaps I should add that I went into the device manager and both drives had a yellow circle on them, I let it search for drivers but it reported that it couldn't find any better drivers than the one's in use. when I click on "My Computer" the drives don't exist but do when Nero is uninstalled. What’s going on?

Thank you sir, strange though, because this was a fresh install of XP Pro SP2 (2 days old) and no other CD, DVD writing software installed apart from the stuff that comes with XP Pro. I'm having no luck trying to download from that link so will try it tomorrow
