No more Hardware bypass.

ewaste. most people are just using their home computers as netflix and word document machines, not storing government secrets on them.

the user should be given a choice.
You have a choice
Old pc put Linux on it lol
To be fair to Microsoft you can't perpetually support
Really old hardware on new operating systems

Honestly, if you're using an unsupported CPU, there's a good chance it's over 15 years old at this point, in which case I don't see the argument against this.
Don’t think my other system with an i7-4770k + Z87 motherboard support windows 11 from what I can remember

My 7700k wasn't supported, don't know if it is now somehow, it's now the other halves' office pc, so I guess it doesn't really matter, but it's hardly obsolete.

Annoying I'd need to upgrade two of our three PCs, that's a lot of cost. It's not the licensing cost that's the problem, I'd be binning a lot of perfectly functional hardware to do it.

Look at it from a different perspective
You buy the latest phone
No idea about apple devices
So say you pay a grand for the latest android flagship
How many years software updates do you get?
3 or something?
Not remotely as many as we are talking about
Here regarding windows

End of the day Microsoft aren't saying you have to bin it
Just you can't have the latest version
On a pretty old device

Due to the security bugs not being patched though they are essentially going to be doing that.

It's a bit like a car manufacturer saying.. yeah you can keep your old car but we won't be supplying spares for it and incidentally we're also the only ones who can supply those spares. Good luck.

I mean we're only a few years away from them doing that with modern cars anyway seeing as they are essentially PCs on wheels.

You're talking hardware there Not software
But yeah try getting your cars sat nav
Upgraded for free
Hyundai are only car I have had
Where they didn't want anything from 100 quid upwards
They did it free

Tesla already charge to turn certain things on
Through their software I think
