After a bit of advice on this. I have a wall inside our server room at work that I want to hang a 4 x 2 whiteboard on. I don't have any of the mounting kit and the landlord is a bit funny about screwing into walls etc. I was thinking that no more nails might hold it up but I;e never used it so I'm a bit sceptical of it's strength. I don't want to just give it a go if it's doomed to fail from the start as I don't want to mess the wall up. Anybody done anything similar before?

It will hold it up no problem as long as you put enough on there. Getting it off again will be the bigger problem...

If the landlord is funny about screwing into walls he certainly won't want you using no more nails. It will make an almighty mess when it needs to be removed.

If you really can't fix into the wall you might be better with something like this:

No More Nails, Sticks Like **** (yes, really) and so on will work, but will only adhere to the top surface. Therefore be mindfull that the whiteboard doesn't peel off just a paint layer or something.

lol do not use No More Nails! You may get the whiteboard off the wall but the adhesive will not come off without causing some damage.

Another vote for using the 3M command strips as above. Use enough of them and it'll be fine and they do come off cleanly. I've used them to hang a metal clock and a couple of paintings on a newly plastered and painted wall that I didn't want to screw into and has held it fine.

+1 Currently got a (pretty heavy) mirror hanging in my hall way with 4 of these (one on each corner). Had no problems at all with them :)

Used em to put a cork notice board on a wall - it came off after about 2-3 years.

EDIT: that was onto wallpaper though which that link says not to.

+1 vote here for just go ahead and attach it with screws/a picture hook...

It's so easy to patch up the holes - little blob of filler on an old credit card, splodge it in and smooth it, wait for it to dry, give it a quick sand if it isn't smooth enough and touch it up with a little tester-pot of paint if it doesn't blend into the wall well enough

Done this on several properties we've lived in despite the landlord saying not to screw into walls and have never had them pull us up on it...
