No MOT for 2 weeks - issues?

I've just had a MOT reminder and the earliest I've been able to book the MOT is 2 weeks after the current MOT expires. That's partly because I'm going to be away. But that's quite some time to be MOT-less. Obviously I'm not going to be driving it in that time. Do I need a SORN? Do I need to advise my insurer? DVLA's automated system refers me to DVSA and their automated system just hung up on me.

Just park it off road. As long as it's still taxed and insured you don't need to SORN AFAIK.
