No mouse after MBP in sleep.

As the title really.

Bringing it out of sleep, the usb mouse doesn't work, but the trackpad does.

Is this prob familiar to anyone?

happens on my mac mini sometimes. just plug it back in and it switches the mouse back on

i've had it. In fact i've had a mixture of 3 things.

1) no mouse pointer at all (either with my usb one or the trackpad)
2) no mouse with usb, but trackpad works mouse pointer ok
3) mouse pointer is ok, but dock has gone awol

all 3 resulted in a reboot as i didn't know how to fix it in a better way. Im new to macs so don't know the keyboard shortcuts to get to the command prompt, and then which processes to kill/start again.

Oddly, after 10.5.3, this prob seems to have gone.

I know there was supposed to be a firmware update that was supposed to correct it. I had a similar problem but updated the firmware and it sorted it.
