Hey guys,
Since my Sony blu-ray is not getting updated for the new iPlayer, I've fallen to wondering; if I put together a Baytrail build, would it have the grunt to play HD video (blu-ray, iplayer, and a variety of files) while not overheating in a no-fans case? Media files would be on a network share, but not streamed, so this box has to be able to handle the decoding and playback by itself.
Something like an Akasa Crypto case, Kingston 60GB ssd, and Baytrail board totals around £145, with space for a slimline blu-ray at a later date. Already got some laptop DDR3 lying around, as well as an external DVD, and I can liberate a windows license from the office
Thoughts? Been waiting ages for a 'good enough' low power/cool running processor to try a build like this - has the day finally arrived when it's a practical option? ^^
Cheers
