Hi all

Built a new system on an asus commando....

I always like to streamline my boot-up so I usually disable any external Raid controllers etc...

But it would appear that my IDE DVD drive is being controlled by a JMicron PATA controller.

The BIOS lists an ATAPI cd-rom drive connected though & I can't work out what this is??

Any comments about what is going on??

Intel removed PATA support from their P965 chipset as in their opinion it is legacy so most mobo manufacturers provide IDE via the JMicron controller, not much you can do except maybe replace your drives with SATA variants.

thnks for reply...

I thought as much but I just couldn't find it officially

I know it's not long but i hate the stupid jmicron screen......."plextor px-712a press any key to continue"

Why bother........ :(
