No onboard sound (Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3/S3)

Hello all

Helped a mate build his new system yesterday and theres no sound device recognised at all. Mobo is Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3/S3.

Drivers installed, turned on in bios. He read that the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for HD Audio was needed so downloaded and installed that but still nothing.

Anyone have any ideas about what he can try next please? Hes starting to think its a fault with the mobo, is this very likely?

I had a similar problem with those same drivers, they have to be installed in a certain order. Dont ask me which it drove me insane.

Uninstall the drivers and reinstall, took me about six - seven goes. Still not sure the order or why it worked.
