I've noticed that everywhere still has all the RTX 4080 cards available apart from the FE model.

I'm guessing nobody is buying this way overpriced 80 series card right? Or has everyone got lots of stock?

Yes I know I have the 4090 but even I know the 4080 should be no more than £800-900 in the current climate

I just read your comment and I must say this level of AMD fanboyism is unacceptable. The lengths you'd go to present such a terrible nVidia product in a good light is unbelievable. I'm sick of posters like you who are obviously on Intel's payroll. Would read again.:p

all can say is its like this availability is meant to increase next month for the 4090 and at the same time amd is launching so even in the worst possible case scenario all the amd cards sell out its no biggie as can then always pay the extra for a 4090

Any sane person would not pay this price. The nvidia model is too expensive let alone the 3rd parties. Anyone looking to buy at these prices would likely pay £300 more and get the far superior rtx4090. With the "rtx4080 beating" 7900xtx coming out soon for £1000-£1100* it just makes zero sense getting one.

It's clear nvidia are looking to use the rtx4080 price as a way to upsell to rtx4090 or encourage others to buy the old rtx3000 series. They'll probably keep this price until the 7900xtx are on the shelves then drop it a few hundred and maybe drop rtx3000 a bit to. Then work in a rtx4080ti at the current price point

It's just hilariously overpriced. I would hesitate at £1000 for this card. Zero reason to move on one of these until the AMD cards are benchmarked & released. If you really think it's competetive after that, then I'm sure you'll be able to get one.

Correct! Why would anyone buy a 4080 at that price when a 4090 is orders of magnitude better for a couple hundred more.

For under 4080 money you are better off buying a 3090/Ti, or for an even better saving and have within 10% of a 3090 Ti in games, buy a 3080 Ti instead.

even those have a massive price hike over last gen

Yes if someone is seriously considering the 4080 I would strongly suggest look at the AMD cards

Tbf 6900xt was the same $999 RRP to what the 7900xtx is , so how is that a massive price hike ? They retained the last generation RRP ?

The 7900xt should've been the 7800xt at around £700-£750

If you pay close attention you'll notice the 7900xtx is the new 6800xt.

The uplift is pretty impressive to last gen 6950xt while keeping the same RRP to 6900xt

Instead of doubling the price we see on 3080 10gb to 4080

Yeah true should have priced at £650-£700 so hope Nvidia drop prices more so everyone can buy Nvidia cards

That would have been disruptive and gained AMD some market share and a lot more sales, pricing two cards at or near a grand tells me AMD has no interest in taking a fight to Nvidia.
