Hi,

My head-unit doesnt seem to send the 12V required down the blue/white wire. It should automatically turn my JBL amp on. Up until now I've just had another switch to turn it on now, but I think I should get it sorted properly ;)
Ive checked all my wiring so there must be something to do with the HU.
Its a Pioneer DEH-6500R.

Any help is appreciated :)
Thanks

Check that you have connected it to the correct wire, it will usually be marked up on the HU as either 'antenna' or 'remote'. Assuming you have done this, check for a voltage on that wire when you turn the HU on.

If the output is dead then it may have been caused by an excessive current draw at some stage. I can't imagine it being expensive to fix.

If I were in the situation of a dead remote output I'd most likely ghetto mod the HU, open it up and wire a transistor or something to an LED that comes on with the HU... It could be interesting.

Lol splitz. I checked the output with a voltmeter but there is no output. Should I just leave it as a seperate switch then ? :(

Have you switched the sub on in the HU's setup menu system?

The subwoofer works fine so I think Ive turned it all on correctly.
