Updated to Windows 10 and the sound worked fine for a couple of days...I use HDMI out to a 5.1 AV Receiver (Sony 810). However, Windows 10 now shows that only a Stereo option is available

Under Sound > Configure, this used to give me a 5.1 option, and In

Sound > Properties DDigital, DTS, DTS-HD etc are not listed any more

I can therefore not pass through any 5.1 tracks to the AV Receiver?

I'm guessing this is a problem with the AMD Drivers...anyone have a similar problem or now a fix?

I use amd R290x and previously a 7850 with windows 10 and passthrough over optical on the realtek and hdmi to av receiver and projector. I use lav filters and mpc-be to passthrough.

On thing that i did have a problem with, under support formats, make sure they are all ticked.

I was having problem playing some 44.1khz sound and it was not ticked there.

My problem is I don't have the options you have, I used to But now DTS etc. Isn't there under Supported formats...

Its a Sony 820, had it for a while, no problem under Windows 8.1...The Receiver decodes passthrough Audio from my Virgin TIVO and XBOX One, pretty sure its a ATI HDMI Drive problem?

Again the problem is I don't have the option to tick or not tick DTS etc.

This used to be a problem when Windows 8 was first released...but future Drivers fixed it (I assumed it was the driver anyway)

Cheers

I'm sure when I had this problem with a Sony amp it was in the HDMI menu on the receiver, think it was audio out was set to amp+tv instead of just amp.

Looks like you were right! (thanks!), DTS-HD etc back now :)

(Not sure how the AMP "re-set" to TV+AMP out, but it had)
