No picture on screen

Hey! (I'm new)

I have a problem with my pc at the moment. When i turn it on, i get no screen on the monitor. I turn it of, i try again, i turn it of, i try again, and eventually it will work. I have swapped the graphic card and it's still doing it, and i have also reformatted. Does anybody know what may be wrong?

have you connected every in correctly?

tried a different monitor

tried both DVI ports on the graphics card?

tried a different cable

tried the different input connectors on your monitor (assuming it has more then one)?

Everything is connected properly. I have tried all of the above except "tried both DVI ports on the graphics card?" I will give that a go now!

Have you tried removing graphics card altogether and test the onboard? Can you try it with a different monitor and/or the same monitor on a different system?

Could be the motherboard, i had this problem a few weeks ago.

I have tried the onboard and it still does it. I have tried my system on the exact same monitor (My brothers) and the problem still exists. It's something wrong with the pc, definately not the monitor.

Just boot up the pc and got a message saying that the cpu was unknown....It said press F1 to continue...Very weird.

Have you reset the cmos? Might be worth leaving the batt out for 5 minutes or so tobe on the safe side.

Done that, any other suggestions? Just got another silly message that said my CD rom wasn't detected...I get a new error every time. Is it the motherboard?

Sorry to bump the thread yet again, but i must also say that if i open the case and re put the ram in, it will boot first time...

I'd try the pc with bare essentials installed with no USB devices attached. Maybe with just a single stick of memory and just OS drive attached if have more than one.
