Hi there just looking for suggestions on this issue.

Ok new system been using for gaming week or so now stable and performing well, however it 'suddenly' occured to me, why does my system not beep when it posts???

No beep nothing but it boots fine/fast and again is performing well as expected (i get appropriate vantage score for my set-up) any ideas?

Did your motherboard come with a little speaker that attaches via header pins? The last few I've had didn't have a built in speaker

This may come across quite daft but have you got the "Speaker" Cable plugged into the mobo? If not that won't give any beep.

Edit: D13 beat me to it.

wow thanks for the quick response guys cheers. so there might be a speaker that comes separate from the mobo? lol I never heard of that before, will have a look in the box now

no i have all the accessories that it is supposed to have and no mention of mobo audio/speaker of any kind. the manual goes on about beep codes so of course it should beep but nothing on boot. It doesnt really bother me im just worried it might be a symptom of a more serious problem

The speaker is separate from the motherboard. PC cases have had speakers installed for years and years, or at least until recently where in some cases they are no longer supplied. Your motherboard will probably have a SPK + - position on the front panel header.

Some motherboard have a 2 character alphanumeric display to ley you know if anything is wrong. It's far more use than a sequence of beeps.

The speaker will plug in by where your power switch plugs in. As mentioned I've only got a speaker in 1/2 my last couple builds

i think you hit the nail on the head there, I am not 100% but regarding the cluster of connectors like the power on/reset and other bits, the mobo came with a a little adapter t oconnect it all outside the the case then just plug them all in at once, however i am pretty sure it doesnt work fully as the front usb always go on anf off (this drove me insane before as my wireless stick kept on disconnecting. Tomorrow i will just take it out and plug them in directly and hopefully that will resolve it.

Thank you so much for the help guys really appreciate it, wheni said earlier it doesnt bother me i think i was wrong :D
