No Post :( - help

Hiya guys to give you a little history my system stopped woring when I replaced the hsf with a zalman one, I got cpu and ram tested at work and they are ok, so to replace the dead motherboard I bought an:

asus a8n-e and HIS X550 pci-e gfx

Rebuilt the system this morning and I am getting repeating long beeps. It's award bios and that error means ram error, so I switched ram with some spare ram - same.

The only thing I can think of is that it doesn't like my psu globalwin supersaf 420w atx v1.3, with 18a on the +12v, I checked internet and you should be able to use atx 1 with 2 boards according to what I have read.

So any ideas/confimation of my suspicion?

Doesnt ATX2 require the 20-24 pin adapter if you are running ATX1.3?

Does it? So you reckon that the psu/no adapter might be the problem?

try clearing cmos also..

yeah I 've cleared the cmos by removing battery and then using jumper.

Other than the psu has anyone got any other ideas as to what the problem may be?

Ok I sorted the problem ram needed to be in slots a1 and b1
