Hey guys, back again, and in need of some help please. Finally built my system the other week and all has been running fine, until i started tinkering like an idiot.

Changed RAM from 2400mhz to 2666mhz, rebooted an now I've got an issue in that the PC Seems to boot fine, fans running, motherboard lit up, AIO pump running etc, but i'm getting no signal whatsoever from the GPU.

Currently running on an old Samsung tv, which when the system isn't turned on will display no signal. As soon as i turn the system on the screen will go blank for a few seconds, before again displaying no signal. No post screen or anything is displayed at all. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do next.

I've tried :

Changing over to secondary bios via motherboard swith
Changing gpu slot position
Disconnecting all unnecessary items like HDDs etc.
Removing ram and trying them in different slots
Tried using a different screen

I have no access to any other GPU's or i would've tried that also. The only plan i have so far is go and buy another cheap gpu and hope that is the issue and i haven't killed anything more expensive!

What do you guys reckon i could try, or what do you think is dead?

I would take out the mobo battery and let it clear for a few mins then try again, if it brings it back to life then reflash your bios asap.

Have you tried using all the different outputs on the GPU? I've had my GPU start using DVI or HDMI instead of DP on me before, no idea why.

Tried taking the cmos battery out already, also used the cmos reset button on the motherboard. No dice.

Unable to use different GPU output due to using a TV that has only hdmi in.

Any other suggestions?

Remove all hardware from the case. Place on/in a cardboard box (motherboard box) assemble basic components with one stick of ram. Try to post, best if you have a beeper or speaker connected.

Check with or without memory, GPU, boot drive.

You need to connect it to a monitor NOT using hdmi. The TV wont register the resolution the pc outputs when it boots with hdmi. Try connecting it via VGA. If you have a Dvi port on your graphics card that only outputs a digital connection you will need an active converter (not just an adaptor) to turn the signal from the pc that is digital in to an analog signal that the TV can understand via vga.

I had the exact same problem and wasted quite abit of cash trying to get it to work.

Its all about the graphics card and the TV

Ps, the tvs vga and hdmi systems are seperate systems, thats why this works

Thing is alex, it had been working perfectly fine until i messed around with the memory speed settings. so im a little confused as to how it now wont work.

I had a similar issue, went through a lengthy process of testing all pieces (even RMA testing the gfx card to make sure). Turned out one of the RAM sticks had failed.

COuld be as simple as this... however test each component separately and systematically. With something like this i'd say its RAM or Motherboard related.

Pulled it all out, put each component back in one by one (including a new Gforce 210 GPU) and it turns out, youre correct oaksmokedbacon. One of my memory modules is causing it to not boot. So i'm now running 12GB of Triple channel memory lol.

Bit ****ed off to be honest as the memory is less than a month old, but not much i can do about it as it was my own daft fault, just a little confused as to why it didnt work before but does now, and also as to why only one stick has failed but the rest are fine!?

Assuming the settings you put it to were within the parameters of what the RAM is specced at then I would say RMA it.

Literally the only thing i changed was the speed. XMP was enabled. but besides that nothing else. Would it be worth contacting the staff here at OC.UK or shall i go to kingston and try to RMA, or was it simply my own fault it died.

Thought if i overclocked memory it just wouldnt boot and it would reset but apparently not!

RMA via the retailer. So yes OCUK if that's where you got it from.

Raise a webnote on your account detailing the fault and go from there - Again assuming that the module was actually meant to be capable of the speed you were setting it to?
