Hello All,

Not sure if this in the right place but I appear to have a problem with my rig.

After installing a new harddrive and connecting everything back together I appear not to get a post boot screen.

Everything comes on like the fans, HD, DVD ROM etc and the GFX is getting power but for some reason nothing is displaying. I have checked the monitor and that is ok, also check and reseated the RAM and the GFX card.

The graphics card is a XT1900X.

I left the machine over night and switched it on ok this morning but late this afternoon when I had to reboot the machine it has done the same fault. Not sure what it is.

Could it be the Gfx card for some reason, I do not get any beeps. and the DVD rom and HD seem to go through the boot up but nothing appears on the screen.

Thanks

Hello,

I have tried this and it didn't make a difference, took the batt out also and then tried and nothing.

What I have noticed that if you leave it for a long time and come back to it it is fine.

I did have the machine reboot on me the other day and then when I tried to login I didn't have keyboard and mouse, switched off and on and this is when I have had the problem. Have also done the remove everything that is powered and slowly add them back this appears to be fine. Just seems to be if the machine has been on for awhile and you restart it doesn't like it. Tho this didn't happen like this the other night.

Thanks

Just tried to use the PC, only the GFX card RAM and one HD is plugged in. I didn't get anything on the screen at all.

Some have suggested that the PSU is not up to the job.

EDIT - Just took the Batt off the mobo and waited plugged the batt back in and it works!!

Does this mean that the motherboard is on its way out?!?

Not neccessarily. Clearing the CMOS often helps cure some minor ails. I'm surprised I forgot to suggest it earlier tbh.

Check if he still has the warranty info as you'd still be able to return it under his name.

Unfortunately, my betting is on you needing to buy a new one.
