No Post when Ps2 keyboard is connected

hey i have just built a computer and when a PS2 keyboard is connected, the monitor does not recognise that the computer is connected, when a usb keyboard is connected it does not recognise theres a keyboard and or when no keyboard at all is connected it will enter a black screen where it will display an american megetrends screen which displays the speed of my proccess and then just displays a black line every few minutes and on the odd occasion more numbers which im guessing is more specs of my comp.

My specs are:

Cosmos S case

Asus P5Q Pro Motherboards

Intel Q9550 CPU (with AC cooler master freezer extreme)

Asus ENGTX 285 graphics card

Cooler Master Real Power M850 Modular Power Supply

4 x 2GB 6400 of RAM (one of them is broken but have not been able to test which one yet)

and 3 HDD taken directly out of my old computer

i dont know if some old drivers from my last computer could be causing problems.

i have tried my graphics card that i know is working and the same thing happened so im assuming its not to do with that. have been unable to try a different CPU but will do when overclocker send my motherboard back. also could it be the broken stick of RAM causing problems ?

finally could some one reccomend a better CPU fan whilst the artic cooler freezer extreme looks like it will do its job, its secured to the motherboard by small plastic clips and looks like it will fall off with any slight movement of the system.

thanks in advance

do you actually get the message "no keyboard connected" ?

have you tried the usb keyboard in different usb slots ?

i dont get writen message but i do get a beep code, i did try multiple usb slots and it did make its way to BIOS once but i could not do anything whilst on there
