I have recently built a brand new pc with the following parts:

CPU: i9-14900kf
CPU cooler: H150i
Motherboard: NZXT N7
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 2x32GB 6000mhz
SSD/HDD: Rog m.2 1tb
GPU: Msi gaming trio 5060Ti 16gb
PSU: Vetroo 850w 3.1 atx
Chassis: NZXT H6 Flow
OS: Windows 11
Monitor: Ultragear unsure of model

All parts were brand new as of the install of windows

i had the system running and loading bios, went through the windows install as normal and then got a DRAM issue during boot.

i reseated the ram with the system powered off and now have no power to motherboard at all.

i have tested my psu and that is working and giving the right readings on the right pins of the 24pin mobo connector

i have had a refund on the mobo and the PSU so have bought replacements but i am slightly worried that these may not have been the underlying issue. Can anyone help me shed some light on this?

TIA

Incredibly unlikely to be Windows related, I'd say it's most probably a failure or some awkward result of working and faffing with the build. It's rare but does happen, probably a failure but worth covering your bases to be 100%.

A motherboard short might not be immediate for example, it could happen after a period of time, usually a short one.
Hopefully with these new parts coming i can rebuild and have no issues!

Could it be a bios update issue fir the 14900kf that motherboard doesn't have bios flashback so can't be updated without an older gen CPU.

The fact you got to windows install makes me think not but you never know see if you get any signal from your new board.
The bios was showing the correct CPU too!

But your changing the board, it's just something to be aware of if it boots to check bios version as it may or may not cause problems.

@Gray2233 is spot on build it on the motherboard box to test first not the bag it also comes in.

Let us know how you get on.

Good luck.
I'm under the impression that it ships with 14th gen support now!

to update the bios i wouldnt need to install windows first would i? i have a laptop so i can install bios onto usb!!!

did you turn off the psu, before messing with taking the ram in, and out? not doing that then flexing the board can easily bork a motherboard, sorry to say
only the cpu is probably okay send everything else back it back and get replacements, you don't have the parts to localise the problem
you did buy from within the uk, right?
Yes i turned off the power first! always unplug it before messing with it!

everything was bought within the uk yea!
