No power going through pc

If you have a surface mounted power button try that, if not try shorting out the pins on the motherboard for the power switch and see if that gives you any joy.
 
There is a power button on the mobo, ill try that in a mo - do i need to wait a few minutes after cmos reset?
 
Cmos reset worked - ive got both gpus unplugged and one stick of ram in. Shall i try add the gpus back on?
 
Everything plugged back in and I've managed to boot fine. Wow.. I thought my heart was going to give out, i was sure it was pooped.

What could cause this, is there anything specific? I assume im in the clear now.
 
Sometimes the board throws a wobbler, mine in the past has done this, started up and then stopped and that was it, done a CMOS reset, reapplied my saved overcock profile and all was well again.
 
Strange.. I hope thats the end of my worries.

Well.. I can be whatever you want :p But very well, we'll save that for after hours!

At least I learnt a lot about testing a PSU. Can't help to know this sorta stuff!
