Hi guys,

So just did a new build, specs are below.

Last night I left my machine one and let AVG do a scan, which then shuts the machine down once its finished.

This morning I can in and hit the power button, and nothing.
I opened her up and there was no power light on the Mobo switch.

I unplugged the whole thing, plugged it back up and still nothing.
Then I unplugged it for about 5 mins, put another kettle lead into the PSU and bam it worked.

So I though OK maybe a issue with the lead. I went back and tested the one I had been using and it worked right away.

I have had little things like this now and again, where when I go to turn it on everything spins up and then shuts down in 3 seconds.

What could be causing this? Power saving or a dodgy PSU or something?
CPU runs fine and it seated perfectly, no over heating, when the machine is on everything runs smooth.

Sounds like a dodgy PSU. Presumably the case power button header is fitted well to the motherboard? Might be worth getting the multi meter out to test volts.

Could it be anything to do with power saving etc. Are there power saving options in the Bios?

Its just really odd, when the machine is running its great, no issues.
The issue only occurs when turning it on. I'll check the power header etc later today, and also see if I can do a physical check with a multimeter later in the week.

I think, and hope it is just a setting somewhere.

Also to take note:

The power setup is as followed . Main plug > Surge Rack Mount Extention > Computer.

I might hook it up to my studio power conditioner also.

Yeah, I have the (sorry for my tardyness on names) "big" connector from the PSU to the top right handside of the motherboard which is the 12/14 connector, not sure how many but thats in. And then the smaller 8 pin connector at the topright of the motherboard above the CPU.

try a cmos clear, leave out mb battery for 30mins and then try,is the psu is faulty it would have blown the fuse in the original kettle lead
