No power to my GPU

I've put a new rig together but I can't get it to POST.

The GPU (8800GTX) fan does not spin up so I think the problem may lie there. I'm using a Tagan 530W on an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe mobo. Is this enough power?

I've checked all the connections and only have the minimum components plugged in.

Any ideas?

Have you reseated the graphics card and made sure that the power cable is connected to the graphics card. Don't be afraid to give it a little push. :) Do you get any beeps and has the motherboard got power?

I think there is a delay before the 8800gtx fan spins up when you first turn the system on...

I can't remember for sure,as my 8800gtx now has a waterblock on it..

If a 8800gtx don't get enough power then it normally squeals very loud...(they do this when there no 6 pin PCI express plugs in)

Thanks for the answers. I've resetted and checked the cables. No beeps and nothing on the monitor. Next step is to test the mobo/memory with spare components from my shuttle. I've read that the mobo can be sensative about memory, although I'm using Crucial Ballistix and didn't expect any problems.

I'll post results here when I'm done.

Cheers

Well the results are inconclusive....

I could boot when I replaced the graphics card with my 7600GS, however the motherboard just hangs after it detects the hard drive (swapped that too but it still sticks). The mobo is B-Stock so I think I'll just send it back and get something new.

Does anyone have any sub-£50 motherboards to recommend? It's to fit an AMD64 dual core, 8800GTS (no SLi) and must have firewire. TIA
