Hey

Just tryed to power up my rig and was suprised to find that nothing happened, not even a beep or bang. Last time it was on was last night and it was fine.
Tryed the quickie fixes like changing the power lead / socket and had a look inside it to find all the connections looking fine. Light is off on the mainboard too.
Any suggestions on what it might be? Guessing its a ex-power supply?

Spec:
Q6600 3.0ghz
4GB GeIL 6400 DDR2
BFG 8800GT 512mb
Corsair hx520w
Asus P5KC
Seagate Barracuda 7200 500gb

sniff your PSU for plastic smells lol or just try another but no light on mobo points to the mobo or PSU but u gota make sure you get the right one:D u dont have to power on the machine just get another psu hook it up to the mobo and see it the light comes on:D if not should be the mobo likes:D

Would be from the mainboard backwards if there is no light on the mainboard (no power getting that far.

Perhaps get a multimeter out and see if your getting anything from the PSUs rails? I guess that would rule out a mainbaord fualt.

Link out pins 13 & 14 on the 24 Pin ATX and see if the PSU starts - But I would remove all components being powered and just connect a fan to one of the molex's.

Was going to try my old antec psu on it, but its only 20pin, P5KC is 24pin...poo.
Havn't got a multimeter either.
Any other to test to see if its the power supply or mainboard?

Right then, had a look on the Corsair tech website and they recommmended what you said RJC, kudos to you ;). The result was still bugger all, nothing. So is it safe to say that its gone to psu heaven? Have a 5year warranty from what the Corsair site says

Missed your previous reply, did not realise that was on the Corsair tech site regards shorting the pins :)

It does look that way, the fuse has been changed so there is a not a lot more you can do, part from send Corsair an note for RMA.
